Type: Residential Concept, 2025 | Location: Oslo, Norway

A formal sitting room without all the seriousness. Designed for a pair of collectors with a love for design history and everyday rituals, this space invites pause, play, and conversation. Whether enjoying a nightcap, hosting a casual game night, or starting the day with espresso, the room balances purpose with personality. The layout is anchored by a black and white striped sofa, a subtle nod to the bold graphics of 1980’s Italian design, while dove blue velvet armchairs offer softness and subtle contrast. A series of cherry red screening creates separation from the pass-through hallway, drawing on Postmodern uses of color and partition to shape space without closing it off. Along the pass-through hallway, leather-clad closets introduce nuanced architectural texture and provide practical storage for barware, books, and board games. Every element was chosen to reflect the clients’ appreciation for bold design, thoughtful living, and a room that feels both refined and quietly playful.
